This patient had porcelain to metal crowns. The lateral incisors had black lines at the gum line. Her previous dentist told her that was the best result she could expect. We replaced her crowns with full porcelain crowns. The upper maxilla bone was in an extreme v shape, bringing the lateral incisors (the teeth next to the central or "front" teeth) out of view. By changing the shape of the porcelain we brought them into view, and improved her smile. By going beyond her expectations, this patient was very impressed with the number of ways we improved her smile.
